Could the Escalating Tensions Between India and Pakistan Have More Severe Consequences?

Early this morning Indian officials reported that jet fighters have targeted and destroyed a major terrorist camp in Pakistan. Initially, India's western neighbour stated that no significant targets were damaged during the operation and yet Islamabad indicated that Pakistan is preparing for all eventualities of the conflict, which has last been at such a critical point in 2001.

Pakistan possesses nuclear weapons, which are an ever-present danger to the peace and stability in the region, moreover, the situation is developing amidst negotiations between Washington and Pyongyang for the denuclearization of North Korea. Kim Jong Un arrived earlier today in Vietnam prior to his summit with Donald Trump.

Presently there are no talks of potentially moving or cancelling out the event, given the recent developments between India and Pakistan, however, in all eventualities the US President is going to have to address the issue and restore investor confidence. We are going to observe the situation as it develops but an eventual cancellation of the summit between Kim and Trump is going to shake the futures markets.
